Soilless culture technology

Soilless cultivation has developed rapidly in the cultivation of vegetable facilities at home and abroad, and it has advantages superior to conventional soil cultivation in overcoming continuous cropping obstacles, expanding the field of vegetable cultivation, resisting adverse environments, and producing pollution-free vegetables.

Soilless cultivation requires the deployment of nutrient solutions. Natural rainwater is the safest source of water for use in nutrient solutions, but rain received from greenhouses using polyvinyl chloride films is affected by the plasticizer phthalate; acceptance from glasshouses. The rain easily causes excess boron. Well water containing chlorine, calcium, iron, magnesium and trace elements such as zinc, copper, molybdenum, etc., must be pre-analyzed in the water element content to determine the appropriate amount of nutrient solution when the increase or decrease. When tap water and river water are used, fertility disorders are often caused by residual chlorine and mixed with herbicides. In particular, tap water is not dechlorinated and residual chlorine can cause root rot in vegetables. When nutrients such as river water, well water, and tap water contain excessive amounts of water, they can be removed by distillation, ion exchange, electrodialysis, or the like. Therefore, using rainwater is more economical.
