Brazil develops GM transgenic goats to treat rare genetic diseases

Gaucher's disease is a rare human genetic disease caused by insufficient genetic glucocerebrosidase. According to the São Paulo State newspaper, about 600 people in Brazil suffer from Gaucher's disease. Luciana Bertolini, a researcher at the University of Fortaleza in Brazil, where Gluka was born, said: "Raising sheep is cheaper than cultivating cell lines, and the process of purifying (medicinal) proteins is basically the same."
At present, the breeding technology of transgenic goats has been relatively mature, and a large number of such tests have been carried out in various countries.
