Endotronix, a heart failure disease management company, received $32 million in financing
In order to solve the treatment problem and the cost burden of the disease, the parties are making efforts to this end. Arterial Network (WeChat: vcbeat) learned from foreign media that Endotronix, a startup based in Woodridge, Ill., recently raised $32 million in Series C financing. This round of financing is funded by an investment consortium, including BioVenture Investors, SV Life. Sciences (SVLS), Lumira Capital, Aperture Venture Partners, OSF Ventures.
Endotronix has previously had multiple rounds of financing, with a total of $50 million in financing to date. Its CEO Dr. Roland believes that the combination of hardware and software may be a successful strategy for dealing with congestive heart failure.
Endotronix's cloud-based heart failure disease management platform
Founded in 2007, Endotronix, located in eastern Peoria, Illinois, is a medical device company that develops miniature wireless implantable pressure sensors and related disease management platforms based on digital healthcare and cloud computing technologies. Endotronix provides wireless implantable pulmonary artery pressure sensors for heart disease for remote monitoring. Changes in cardiac pressure are widely recognized as the most accurate signals for heart disease, but have only recently been used in clinical settings. Endotronix connects its medical device system to a cloud patient management system, allowing patients, doctors, and caregivers to see stress data and physiological data to understand the patient's latest physical condition.
Dr. Roland is a co-founder of the company and is a CEO responsible for corporate operations, strategy and technology development. He holds a bachelor's and doctorate in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech, a master's degree from the University of California, and more than 10 years of experience in micro and nanopreparation technology. Dr. Roland has a strong interest in interdisciplinary technology and emerging business opportunities, and his projects have been invited by Sandia National Laboratories, the University of New Mexico and the Three-Body University.
Dr. Nunez is the General Manager of Endotronix, a practicing cardiothoracic surgeon in Vernon, Ill., a leader of the Samaritan Regional Health Center, and a clinical director at the University of Washington Medical School in St. Louis. He received a heart at the Cleveland Clinic. He has been trained in transplantation and mechanical aids at the Penn State Medical Center in Hershey and NIH/NHLBI.
Patients with chronic diseases or congestive heart failure not only have a heavy burden on their families but also on the entire health care system. The hospital hopes to find a way to manage its out-of-hospital patients to reduce their rate of return, which can also reduce the financial penalties of the medical insurance center.
