The research team of the oncology department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University recently discovered three new types of breast cancer susceptibility genes. Research papers have recently been published online in the United States "Oncology Research" magazine.
It is understood that the current global genome-wide association study has identified more than 90 sites of breast cancer susceptibility. The research team not only repeatedly verified known breast cancer susceptibility sites, but also identified two new coding variants: C21orf58 and ZNF526, and a new non-coding variant at 7q21.11. It has a functional role in controlling the growth of breast cancer cells. This discovery has positive significance for the potential gene selection range of Han women breast cancer gene screening.
