Canon was the acquisition of Toshiba Medical antitrust investigation
According to foreign news, the Japanese antitrust agency is investigating Canon’s alleged violation of the data disclosure code when it acquired the medical equipment division of Toshiba.
According to the report, Toshiba acquired the medical equipment department from Canon in an informal manner in order to catch up with the end of March, and wait for the approval of the regulatory authorities to continue the acquisition process. Earlier, antitrust and accounting professionals questioned the transaction. A Toshiba spokesperson said that the company had consulted experts during the transaction and believed that there was no legal problem.
Canon agreed to acquire Toshiba Medical for $6.5 billion in mid-March.
