In recent years, the annual output value of medical equipment in Shenzhen has maintained a growth rate of more than 20%. In 2008, the output value of the industry was 10.715 billion yuan. In 2013, this figure exceeded 23 billion yuan, and the total output value doubled. At the same time, there are outstanding domestic medical equipment companies such as Mindray, Libang, Xianjian and Kaili. According to incomplete statistics, in 2013, Shenzhen medical device enterprises entered the “100 million yuan club”, close to 40, accounting for 7.45% of the total number of enterprises, and its output value accounts for about 85% of the city.

Relying on the unique industrial environment, the drug supervision department of the city introduces advanced enterprises with advanced technology and strong innovation ability to help the development of leading enterprises in the industry; on the other hand, strengthen supervision of enterprises, standardize enterprise development and strengthen the industrial base.

High-tech leads the development of the industry and is an important feature of the medical device industry in Shenzhen. More than 70% of the products have independent intellectual property rights, and the core technologies of many mainstream products have reached or approached the international advanced level, and some indicators are even higher than international advanced products. The R&D investment of the industry generally approaches or exceeds 10% of sales. In Shenzhen Jianjian Technology, its R&D investment is as high as 25%.

Export-oriented development is another feature of the development of medical devices in Shenzhen. Shenzhen has become one of the main export bases for medical devices in China. The export volume accounts for 50% of the total output value. The five types of products produced by Shenzhen, such as monitors, magnetic resonance, color ultrasound, B-mode ultrasound and electrocardiograph, account for about 5% of the products. China's total exports of similar products ranged from 35.09% to 56.22%, ranking first in the country.

Cluster development is a unique advantage of Shenzhen's industry. At present, the sub-industries that form the scale include 143 medical electronic instruments enterprises; 84 dental denture enterprises; 46 diagnostic reagent companies, 96 clinical testing instruments, 42 medical imaging enterprises, and 27 interventional implant enterprises. .

The medical equipment enterprises with a production value of more than 50 million yuan in the city have maintained a growth rate of more than 30%, providing a good echelon for the sustainable development of the industry.
