Morphological characteristics
Deciduous climbing wood vines, about 1m. Roots thick, fleshy, ovate, oblong or long spindle, dark brown, several together. Stems much branched, young branches with lilac, smooth, with fine stripes; tendrils and leaves opposite. Palmate compound alternate; petiole long 3-5cm, slightly lilac, smooth or slightly finely hairy; leaf blade 6-10cm long, 7-12cm wide; leaflets 3-5, pinnately or pinnately nicked, lobes ovate to Oval-shaped ovate or ovate-lanceolate, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin serrulate or notched, middle lobe longest, smaller on both sides, mid-axle with spare wings, lobes associated at base, glabrous on both surfaces .
